The wood treatment in wood clad-aluminum doors and windows is the core process that determines their durability, aesthetics, and stability. Its primary objectives are: controlling moisture content, preventing decay and insect damage, relieving internal stress, enhancing weather resistance, and adapting to different indoor and outdoor usage environments.
According to the composite structural characteristics of wood clad-aluminum doors and windows, the following is the complete wood treatment process of our company:
Selection of Suitable Wood
For wood clad-aluminum doors and windows, high-density and corrosion-resistant solid wood is typically prioritized. Lower-end products on the market often use pine wood, which is prone to decay and requires thorough anti-corrosion treatment.
LEAWOD Selection Standards:
1. Our company routinely stocks premium wood species, including American oak, teak, and merbau.
2. We exclusively use wood boards that have undergone steaming, degreasing, anti-corrosion, insect-proof treatment, and drying.
3. The wood undergoes natural conditioning in our factory to minimize the risk of future deformation.
STEP 1: Cutting the Material
The internal stress in wood can cause it to deform easily. By cutting the wood at the deformed section, the internal stress is relieved.
STEP 2: Flattening the Surface
The surface of the wood is made uniformly flat through the operation of a thickness planer.
STEP 3: Lumber Dimensioning
The material is cut according to the dimensions of the wooden profile using a multi-blade saw.
STEP 4: Selecting the Material&Color
It separates wood by color from dark to light and cuts away areas with defects such as wormholes and knots, ensuring both the quality of the material and consistency in color.
STEP 5: Joining the Finger
After selection, the wood pieces are finger-jointed. Our company uses finger-jointing adhesive from Henkel Germany to ensure better bonding and safety.
STEP 6: Five-Axis Machining Center
The five-axis machining equipment, offering higher precision and eliminating internal stresses to ensure the wooden profiles are milled in a single pass.
STEP 7: Polish
After the milling process, the piece moves on to the sanding stage. Here, machine sanding and manual sanding are used to ensure the wood is smooth and free of burrs.
STEP 8: Primer Coating
The first coat is a 360° immersion primer, providing full sealing of the wood surface. The second coat is a high-solid primer, offering enhanced weather resistance. The third primer coat further seals the wood once more.
STEP 9:Moisture Content Control
After finger joining and the first primer coat, the wood undergoes two microwave balancing processes to dry it according to preset parameters, preventing swelling, shrinkage, or deformation due to moisture content changes.
STEP 10:Top Coating
Through our craftsmen, the first coat is a clear lacquer, followed by the second coat, which is a colored paint. This process ultimately brings out the desired visual effect as requested by the client on the wooden profiles.
