Beyond 99%: The Only Door That Dares to Bend

With over two decades of deep experience in the premium door and window industry, LEAWOD have always believed that true craftsmanship reveals itself in the most difficult corners.

When a door must conform to an arched opening while combining two distinct materials—wood and aluminum—it presents what is arguably the ultimate challenge in door engineering. To be frank, 99% of manufacturers on the market will simply decline. Not because they are unwilling, but because they are unable.

LEAWOD, however, has never shied away from difficult challenges.

For these unconventional spaces, we have delivered a one-of-a-kind solution: the Wood-Aluminum Curved Fold Door.

The technical crux lies in the cumulative tolerance error across eight individual door panels—how to eliminate the multiple deformations caused by the bending of aluminum profiles, wood, and glass; and to what extent the hardware system can adapt to the deformation of the aluminum material. Through complex processes and an extended production timeline, we honored our client's trust and ultimately fulfilled the commission of a seaside resort hotel.

On the exterior, a thermally broken aluminum alloy structure stands resilient and weatherproof, unfazed by sun, rain, or the harshest elements, maintaining its form and thermal performance through every season.

On the interior, the warm texture of natural wood offers a tactile and visual warmth, keeping the "coldness" of the space at bay beyond the glass, and allowing the "coziness" of home to flow naturally from the very first moment the door opens.

This is the true value of "wood-aluminum composite"—not a simple physical layering, but a masterful reorchestration of the extreme strengths of two materials.

Aluminum provides strength, protecting the building's perimeter; wood brings warmth, enriching everyday life. Together, they form a complete solution that delivers modern performance while preserving a natural, tactile connection.

At LEAWOD, we do not produce cookie-cutter replicas.

Because in our eyes—true luxury is not about excess, but about perfect alignment.

Even if that curve was once only 1% possible.

LEAWOD’s 9.8m Extra-Long Sliding Door Lands in a Premium U.S. Project

Welded-as-One Craftsmanship Defies Scale, Unleashing Panoramic Views Without Borders

As this 9.8-meter fully transparent glass door glides smoothly and silently open to both sides, the indoor space melds seamlessly with the outdoor landscape – and the very boundary of the room seems to dissolve.

Recently, LEAWOD completed the on-site delivery of the custom-made 9.8-meter GTL216 extra-long aluminum sliding door for a high-end U.S. client. Leveraging its proprietary integral welding technology and extensive customization capabilities, this solution is ideally suited for overseas villas, penthouse apartments, and premium commercial spaces – achieving both expansive natural lighting and a superior tactile experience in everyday use.

Project Stories (2)

In the current wave of high-end overseas architectural design, wide façades and unobstructed panoramic views have become the prevailing demand for luxury villas, top-floor penthouses, exclusive clubs, and premium commercial spaces. Extra-long sliding doors maximize daylight intake and visually expand the spatial scale. However, oversized profiles often suffer from prominent splicing gaps, sluggish sliding, and insufficient structural stability – flaws that not only ruin the overall aesthetics but also accumulate dust and wear over time, which has long restrained designers from realising their bold visions.

LEAWOD has innovatively applied its mature integral welding process to create a continuous track with no splices. This ensures a more unified visual appearance, evenly distributed structural forces, and, most crucially, smooth and effortless sliding over the long term – even for spans as wide as 9.8 meters.

The GTL216 system sliding door supports a wide range of personalized options – including multi-track configurations, insect screens, barrier-free access, and ultra-narrow frames – to suit diverse design and functional requirements. Even at a span of 9.8 meters, the door operates with a remarkably smooth and light touch, delivering an effortless experience every time it is opened or closed.
